About the role
The General Manager will oversee all aspects of our busy Tea Room & Café in store and online. This is a broad and autonomous role, with no evening work, as we close at 5pm each day.
Here’s a taster of the main responsibilities:
To set and maintain the highest standards of customer service in our cafe, working quickly, efficiently, and always managing.
Responsible for organising staff Rota’s in our Cafe, including sick cover and holiday cover.
Approving/managing staff time sheets, holidays, appraisals, and training.
To ensure the good timekeeping and performance of all staff members.
To manage and maintain successful working relationships with all regular service providers to maximise cost savings for the business and timely deliveries.
To be responsible for the management and maintenance of the shop with a strict monitoring of stock, wastage & breakages.
The management of cleaning and maintenance of equipment within the cafe.
To develop, control and review all operational procedures such as checklists, induction procedures, health & safety, staff meetings.
Operate the till and take receipt of all payments - in store & online.
Ensure all cash and credit card transactions are completed according to company directives.
To maintain high standards of hygiene, health, and safety throughout all the front of house and back of house cafe operation to maintain 5 Star EHO ratings.
This role is for you if:
You have hospitality experience as a café manager and you’re happy to work autonomously, providing the owner with weekly updates.
You have experience managing a team, and planning and managing a Rota with previous knowledge of health & safety.
You’re a positive, can-do person, with a hands-on approach to management.
You’re happy to work some weekends.
You’re able to commute easily to Barnes.
You’re passionate about tea and coffee.
Your enthusiastic with a proven track record in a similar environment.
